Writing Task 2

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Present a written argument or case to an educated reader with no specialist knowledge of the following topic.

Going overseas for university study is an exciting prospect for many people. But while it may offer some advantages, it is probably better to stay home because of the difficulties a student inevitably encounters living and studying in different culture.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Give reasons for your answer.

You should write at least 250 words.
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Task 2

There is no doubt that going to study in a foreign country, with its different language and culture, can be a frustrating and sometimes painful experience. But while overseas study has its drawbacks, the difficulties are far outweighed by the advantages. Indeed, people who go abroad for study open themselves up to experiences that those who stay at home will never have.

The most obvious advantage to overseas university study is real-life use of a different language. While a person can study a foreign language in his or her own country, it cannot compare with constant use of the language in academic and everyday life. There is no better opportunity to improve second-language skills than living in the country in which it is spoken. Moreover, having used the language during one’s studies offers a distinct advantage when one is applying for jobs back home that require the language.

On a university campus, the foreign student is not alone in having come from far away. He or she will likely encounter many others from overseas and it is possible to make friends from all around the world. This is not only exciting on a social level, but could lead to important overseas contacts in later professional life.

Finally, living and studying abroad offers one a new and different perspective of the world and, perhaps most important, of one’s own country. Once beyond the initial shock of being in a new culture, the students slowly begins to get a meaningful understanding of the host society. On returning home, one inevitably sees one’s own country in a new, often more appreciative, light.

In conclusion, while any anxiety about going to overseas for university study is certainly understandable, it is important to remember that the benefits offered by the experience make it well worthwhile.

In this figure, the production of pork meat was rapid increase from 20 million tons in 1950 to 70 million tons in 1990 only slightly more than the production of beef and buffalo meat rising by about 15 million tons in 1950 and 50 million tons in 1990 and that of poultry meat increasing from around 5 million tons in 1950 to around 35 million tons in 1990. Organization

Organization

Organization is one of the greatest human inventions, which can transform the man, business, life, and civilization. What do you think when you hear this word (organization)? Maybe, immediately, you will imagine your present atelier with many tables, chairs, meeting rooms, and working devices.

Typically, the seat position of worker in the workplace determines the status of laborer and salary slips accepted. Generally, the employee seat is usually located in the middle of the office without the beautiful scenery. For senior employees, they may occupy a larger cubicle with one side of the window to see the view outside the bureau. The agency having two-side view is often given to the most important person in the workplace (manager). However, the boss may have the largest exchange bigger than the average size of the Indonesian homes. Certainly, the atelier is a reflection of the organization.

In another viewpoint about the organization, you might visualize the organizational structure as a pyramid. Let’s imagine! The boss is at the top position of the pyramid; The manager is at the middle of that; The employees are at the down position of that. I think the two examples of the organizational fabric are still very common for the present period because of the variety and complexity of the organizational contexture recently.

Writing Task 1
IELTS

You should spend no more than 20 minutes on this task.

The diagram below shows the average hours of unpaid work per week done by people in different categories. (Unpaid work refers to such activities as childcare in the home, housework and gardening.)

Describe the information presented below, comparing results for men and women in the categories shown. Suggest reasons for what you see.

You should write at least 150 words.

My answer:

The figure represents the average hours of unpaid work per week with different categories of Unmarried women, Married women, and Married men with 1-2 children, 3+ children, and without children.

As the graph shows, it can be seen that the average hours of unpaid work of Married women and Unmarried women with having no children, 1-2 children, and more than 3 children increase continuously. The category of Unmarried women is the biggest increase by about 25 (without children), 55 (with 1-2 children), and 60 hours (with 3+ children) only marginally more than the category of Married women rising by 30 (without children), 50 (with 1-2 children), and 55 hours (with 3+ children). The different category of Married men remains stable at about 19 hours per week by tree categories of having no children, 1-2 children, and 3+ children.

Overall, the diagram illustrates that the unpaid work hours of Unmarried women experience the most significant increase.
